--‘‘Earl of Virginia'' was written for the wedding of Earl Gaddis (originally of Virginia) and Virginia van Scoy. ‘‘Bidh Mi Gad Fhaicinn’’ is Gaelic for ‘‘I'll be Seeing You’.’ ‘‘Brose and Butter’’ is a bawdy Burns song; the last tune was written by the son of Nathaniel Gow.
