Delvin Side (trad., variations by J.S. Skinner, one by Ed & Neil) / Keep It Up
/ Traditional reel / Mr John Angus of Calcutta (Wm Marshall) / Jenna Reid of Quarff (Kevin Henderson) -- J.S. Skinner's unique variations on the traditional strathspey ‘‘Delvin Side'' range from fierce to meditative; Ed & Neil improvised one of the variations. ‘‘Keep It Up'' (As a thoiseach) comes from Capt Simon Fraser. Ed learned the E minor traditional reel from fiddler and guitarist Dave MacIsaac. The Marshall tune is one of those great reels of his that usually lies unplayed in his books. Jenna Reid, of Blazin Fiddles, grew up in Quarff, Shetland.
