about

Helen Black of Inveran (Jim Richie) / Marquis of Huntly's Wedding Medley / Devil in the Kitchen / Lochiel's Awa' tae France / Kate's Reel (Ed Pearlman)
--‘‘Helen Black of Inveran'' is a pipe march written by Jimmy Shand's
fiddler. Married to Highland dancer Laura Scott, Ed has played ‘‘Devil in the Kitchen'' countless times for her intense but exuberant Highland Fling. Lochiel, a Jacobite general, fled to France after Culloden;
there is a beautiful version of this reel as a slow air. Ed wrote ‘‘Kate's Reel'' for Kate Dunlay, an old friend, fiddler, dancer, and author about
Cape Breton fiddling.
